(SULLIVAN CO.) – A murder investigation is underway in eastern Sullivan County.
The body was recovered after Sullivan County Sheriff’s Department secured a search warrant for the home and located the remains Tuesday.
An autopsy today by forensic pathologist Dr. Rolan Kohr confirmed the cause of death was a homicide.
Sheriff Clark Cottom said in a news release the victim’s name is not being released pending confirmation of identity and notification of family.
Police have determined there is no threat to the community at this time. More details will be released as the investigation processes, Cottom said
Agencies involved include the Indiana State Police and the Sullivan County offices of the sheriff, coroner, and prosecutor.
