(BEDFORD) – It is official – The 2019 7th Annual Ugly Duck Race and Belly Buster raised more than $40,000 for the Boys and Girls Club of Lawrence County.

“Thank you Lawrence County,” says Board Member Holly Davis, who attended Saturday’s event at John Lowery Municipal Pool.
For the primary duck race, 9,345 of the 9,500 ducks were adopted by residents to see where their little fowl would place.

Thousands of ducks!
Dianna Edwards bought lucky duck #9492, which cross the finish line first. She won a choice between either a two-year lease on a Ford F-150 Super Crew truck or $4,000 thanks to both Bedford Ford and Hoosier Hills Credit Union.
Following the primary duck race, 100 more ducks ventured down the slide at Thornton Pool. The cost of those ducks were $100 each, and every duck was adopted.
Ryan Sullivan, a board member, and longtime club supporter adopted that winning duck. He graciously donated his winnings of $2,500 back to the club.
