Janice Haskett Hutchings, of Bedford, passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2019, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, surrounded by her family.
Janice was born February 28, 1948, in Bedford, to Charles William Haskett and Wilma Delores (Evans) Haskett of Bedford, both who preceded her in death in February of 2007. Also preceding her in death was a great-granddaughter, Gionna Jones in 2012.
Janice graduated from Northeast High School in St. Petersburg, Florida in 1966 and spent one year studying at Florida State University. She spent the next twenty years raising five daughters in a Christian household, working in the church bookstore and teaching at Word of Life Academy.

Janice was a teacher, teaching all levels of students, inmates, and even other educators.
She not only majored in Cultural Geography, but she also lived it as a world traveler. Her travels took her across the globe to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia where she accepted a position as governess to a princess of the royal family.
After several years as a governess, Janice returned to Florida to care for her ailing parents. After their passing, she returned once again to Bedford, working on her family genealogy, documenting her father’s military service, and entertaining family and friends alike with her stories and teachings.
