Lawyer In Alleged Investment Scheme Enters Another Plea

(SOUTH BEND) – A lawyer who formerly worked in northern Indiana and was charged with scamming elderly investors has pleaded guilty to another charge in the case.

The South Bend Tribune reports 61-year-old Eric Marshall entered the plea Wednesday in federal court to bank fraud. He earlier pleaded guilty to one count of mail fraud and one count of securities fraud related to one client he allegedly defrauded.
The newspaper says federal prosecutors intend to drop additional remaining counts after Marshall’s July 18 sentencing.
Marshall, formerly of South Bend and also known as Sven Eric Marshall, was arrested in January in Clearwater, Florida. He earlier was ordered to repay more than $2.5 million to clients.
The U.S. attorney’s office has said he ran an elder abuse scam through an investment company.
