(BEDFORD) – A Bedford couple was arrested after officers were called to a home in the 400 block of N Street, Wednesday night.
While Bedford Police officers were on their way, they received a report that the verbal argument had turned physical.
When officers arrived just before 9 p.m., they found 64-year-old Steven Fausett standing in the front yard.
“He was yelling and when asked to stop he clinched his fist and stepped toward the officer as if he was going to punch them,” says Bedford Police Chief Terry Moore. “He was taken to the ground and started to resist while officers attempted to place him in handcuffs.”
Once Steven calmed down he told police 54-year-old Nancy Fausett had scratched his face and he wanted to file battery charges.
A witness told police that Nancy had struck Steven.
Police arrested Nancy Fausett on a charge of domestic battery, and Steven Fausett was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
