Bloomfield Man Facing Battery Charges After Hurting Pregnant Woman

(BLOOMFIELD) – A Bloomfield man arrested last week after police say he hurt a pregnant woman during a domestic fight.

Greene County Sheriff deputies arrested 29-year-old David Hoover on charges of strangulation and battery causing bodily injury to a pregnant woman.
He was arrested on a warrant on April 26 for his arrest. He posted bond a $1,000 bond on Monday and was released from jail. His jury trial is scheduled for September 24, at 9 a.m. in Greene County Circuit Court. Judge Erik Allen ordered a no-contact order preventing Hoover from contacting the victim.
According to court records, Officers responded to the fight on April 23 at a home in Owensburg. Police say Hoover was living with the victim.
When deputies arrived at the home they spoke to the woman and a juvenile who witnessed the fight. Hoover had left the home and taken one child with him before deputies arrived.
The woman told police she and Hoover got into an argument and he had choked her and then pushed her to the ground. She says he was breaking items in the home and knocked a hole in the wall.
The woman was transported by ambulance to IU Health Bloomington Hospital for a medical evaluation.
