NSA Crane To Honor Fallen Dubois Marine

(CRANE) – NSA Crane will be hosting a building dedication in honor of Lance Corporal Alec R. Terwiske on Friday, May 3, at 10:30 a.m. at the NSA Crane Visitors Center.

U.S. Senator Todd Young, U.S. Senator Mike Braun, and U.S. Congressman Larry Bucshon, of Indiana’s 8th Congressional District, are confirmed to speak at the event along with several other guest speakers.
Lance Corporal Terwiske 21, was killed in action on September 3, 2012, by an improvised explosive device while serving in Afghanistan. He was born July 6, 1991, in Jasper, Indiana, and graduated from Northeast Dubois High School in 2010. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps that same year.
He was assigned to 1st Combat Engineer Battalion, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, Calif. His parent command was Inspector/Instructor Staff, 4th Tank Battalion, 4th Marine Division, Marine Forces Reserve, Fort Knox, Ky.; died Sept. 3 in Helmand province, Afghanistan, while conducting combat operations.
The building dedication required the approval of both the Commandant of the Marine Corps and the Chief of Naval Operations. The package included letters from elected leaders and numerous testimonials from Marines who served alongside Lance Corporal Terwiske.
