Remains Found In Southwestern Indiana Now A Homicide Investigation

(ELBERFELD) – Southwestern Indiana police say they’re now treating human remains found in a rural area as a homicide investigation.

The Warrick County Sheriff’s Office said Monday that investigators have a preliminary identification of the woman whose remains were found Friday won’t release it until it’s confirmed. The Sheriff’s Office says tips from the public helped with the identification.
Investigators say the woman’s body was badly burned.
The area where the remains were found is in northeastern Warrick County, about 3 miles south of Interstate 64.
