Bonnie K. Blackwell, 81, of Bedford, died at 9:21 p.m. on Monday, April 29, 2019, at Stonebridge Health Campus.
Born September 17, 1937, in Bedford, she was the daughter of Gordon and Ruth (Hillenburg) Stewart. She married Dean E. Blackwell on December 2, 1955, and he survives. She had worked as the office manager at Robert Studio in Bedford for many years. She later worked at Bedford National Bank. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Bedford.
Survivors include her husband, Dean, of Bedford; a son, Brian Blackwell, and wife, Jamie, of Bedford; a granddaughter, Erin Gratzer, and husband, Jase, of Bedford; a grandson, Brandon Blackwell, and wife, Terra, of
Bedford; a great-granddaughter, Raelynn Grace Blackwell, of Bedford; a great-grandson, Miles Dean Blackwell. She
was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Bill Stewart and his wife, Sue.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 3 in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Bruce Ervin officiating. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 2 at the Day & Carter Mortuary.

Amy Jo Hawkins Cassidy – Bedford

Amy Jo Hawkins Cassidy, of Bedford, died Sunday peacefully, April 28, 2019, at her residence surrounded by loved ones.
Born September 22, 1967, in Bloomington, IN, she was the daughter of Michael Dean, Sr. and Carolyn Jo (Southern) Hawkins. She married Randall Cassidy on October 7, 2000, and he survives.
Surviving include her husband are one son, Jameson (Jane) Cassidy of Richmond, CA, one daughter, Kathryn Cassidy of Bloomington, IN; one special “Lil Man”, Colton Shelton-Vincent, Bedford, IN; her mother, Carolyn, two brothers, Michael Dean Hawkins, Jr (Stephanie) and Matthew Barry Hawkins (Sarah), both of Bedford; one grandson, Elio Cassidy, and Nephews and Nieces Christopher Hawkins (Janet), Kendall (Eric – Ellie) Eyler, Hannah Hawkins, and Amelia Savage.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Amy was proud to call Mac Powell and the Christian Band Third Day friends, traveling to many venues to hang out with her Gomer friends. Their music provided oil for her lamp, as she loved sharing light, her faith and hope with
others. She was a Registered Nurse who specialized in pediatric nursing and her mission and ministry in life were that of an encourager. Those who knew Amy would agree that she accomplished all of those things and more as she fought her own long and courageous battle with ovarian cancer.
Services for Amy Jo will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 2, at Day and Carter Mortuary. Burial will follow at Dive Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 1 at Day & Carter Funeral Home.
