Bradley Street- has been hired as the North Lawrence Career Center Director effective July 1, 2019. In talking with WBIW these evening, Mr. Street states he is excited to get to work on improving the North Lawrence Career Center. “I will like to look at the history of the career
center, look at where we are at currently and see where we like to take it. I do not want to be bull in the china shop. But, instead, take a look at things and see what kind of programs the area needs. The career center can be a great stepping stone in a student’s career path. Instead, they choose a 1 year, 2 years, or 4-year education in vocational trades. For me personally, the Vocational trades helped me throughout my college career and career path.
We will look at other programs that we can provide see what students and community needs are and for local businesses. I just left the Southeast Career Center, and we even offered Heavy – Equipment Operator Training. There is no limit on what might be provided at the North Lawrence Career Center. I love being able to write grants, and will be active in seeking funds to support some of the existing programs to continue to support them.” Director Street offered.
Duane Beady – has been hired as the new Transportation Director. He will replace Darrin Waggoner who resigned last month to take another job at Tri-Star Engineering. His first day on the job will begin on May 13, 2019.
And finally, Jenise Roane was hired as North Lawrence Career Center Business Services, and the exact hire date is yet to be determined. These key positions have now been filed as they have been left by departures.
