Pacers Drop Game 1 With Weak Second Half

(BOSTON, MA) – A miserable third quarter sank the Indiana Pacers as the Boston Celtics earned an 84-74 win in Game 1 of their first round playoff series.

The Pacers led 45-38 heading in to halftime but came out completely flat and were outscored 26-8 in the third period.
“I thought we kind of lost our way.” Pacers coach Nate McMillan said. “They got the momentum and really never let that go.”
Kyrie Iriving and Marcus Morris each scored 20 points for Boston while Al Horford added 10 points and 11 rebounds.
For the Pacers, Cory Joseph led the team with 14 points off the bench and Bojan Bogdanovic was the only other member to reach double figures as he had 12. Indiana shot 33 percent from the field, was 6-of-27 from 3-point range and a dreadful 57 percent from the free throw line.
The series resumes Wednesday.
