State Road 37 To Be Widened Prior To Construction Of Overpass

(MARTINSVILLE) – There will be lane closures on both northbound and southbound State Road 37 beginning Tuesday, April 9, to allow crews to reconstruct the median shoulder and inside lanes of State Road 37 at Grand Valley Boulevard in Martinsville.


Motorists should be aware of changing traffic conditions between State Road 252 and Industrial Drive.
On northbound State Road 37, the left through lane will be closed, leaving two northbound through lanes; right turn access to Grand Valley Blvd. is unchanged. On southbound State Road 37, the left through lane and one left turn lane to Grand Valley Blvd. will be closed; access to Grand Valley Blvd. will be limited to one designated turn lane.
Crews are widening State Road 37 in preparation for the construction of the Grand Valley Blvd. overpass. Restrictions on the inside lanes adjacent to the median will be in place for approximately two weeks. Then traffic will shift again when crews begin work on the outside lanes and shoulder of State RoadR 37.
Motorists are urged to be aware of the changed traffic patterns in the current work zone around Grand Valley Blvd., and to drive carefully and with no distractions.
