Bloomington Chamber Hosts PrimeTime Business After Hours & BBQ Cook-Off

(BLOOMINGTON) – Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce members, their employees and the public are invited to share in the mouth-watering fun at PrimeTime Business After Hours & BBQ Cook-Off slated for Thursday, April 25, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Monroe County Fairgrounds.

The event, which debuted in 2013, is actually three events rolled into one: Business After Hours, a “Business in a Briefcase” tradeshow and a delicious BBQ Cook-off featuring several BBQ eateries. It’s an exciting way for Chamber members to connect with other members and the public to connect with local businesses while enjoying some tasty samples from BBQ masters.
This year’s PrimeTime Business After Hours & BBQ Cook-off has more than 90 exhibitors and features a variety of drink and food vendors besides the BBQ teams. Adult beverages are available for purchase.
“Primetime is a great opportunity for community members to meet local businesses, enjoy great food and have a lot of family fun,” said Erin Predmore, president, and CEO of The Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce. A kids zone will also be available courtesy of Master Rental.
According to Predmore, the “Business in a Briefcase” component of the event allows exhibitors to engage in real conversations with the attendees and sell products at the event. As Predmore explains, “The focus of Primetime is for exhibitors to engage with the community. The Chamber is excited to have so many member organizations participate this year.”
Along with the business and community partner exhibits, a number of local BBQ teams will compete for top honors as part of the BBQ Cook-Off. These include Kroger, Limestone BBQ, First Class Catering and Carson’s BBQ and Catering Service. PrimeTime attendees can learn from these BBQ masters while tasting their secret recipes for chicken, beef brisket, ribs, and pork! Awards will be given to the top BBQ in each category, including an overall BBQ grand champion.
PrimeTime Business After Hours & BBQ Cook-Off is open to all Chamber members, their employees and the public. There is no cost to attend but those interested in attending should register at the event’s page at www.ChamberBloomington.org.
