ISP Makes Meth Dealing Arrest In Bedford

(BEDFORD) – On Tuesday, the Indiana State Police Drug Enforcement Section along with the ISP Bloomington District A.C.E.S. (Aggressive Criminal Enforcement Section) were conducting an ongoing investigation regarding a methamphetamine dealing case.


A DES Detective observed 47-year-old Timothy Grubb of Bedford drive away from a residence on 4th Street in Bedford. Officers knew Grubb did not have a driver’s license.
At that same time, the detective observed a female drive away from the same residence in a separate vehicle.
This female was recognized as 40-year-old Cheryl Smith of Mitchell. Troopers knew Smith was wanted on a warrant in Owen County and was also driving on a suspended driver’s license.
Both vehicles traveled toward Lincoln Avenue, where they were observed by Sgt. Greg Day.
As Grubb and Smith pulled into a gas station parking lot, Troopers conducted traffic stops. Sgt. Day and Trp. Zach Parker conducted a traffic stop on Grubb’s vehicle.
Troopers Chris Griggs and Caleb Garvin conducted a traffic stop on Smith.
During the encounter with Grubb, troopers observed indicators of criminal activity.
They found an AR-15 rifle laying in the vehicle and Grubb had two handguns. Also, Grubb had approximately 2 ounces (60 grams) of meth, along with marijuana, THC liquid, pills, and numerous items of drug paraphernalia.

While troopers were taking Smith into custody on her active warrant, they discovered that she was in possession of approximately 3 grams of meth, Lortab pain killer pills, Xanax and other pills.
Grubb and Smith were arrested on the following offenses and incarcerated at the Lawrence County Jail.

  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, C Misdemeanor
