(LAWRENCE CO.) – The Indiana Department of Transportation announces lane closures for U.S. 50 for bridge work near Bedford.
Beginning on or around Wednesday, March 27, contractors will close down the left lane on both of the U.S. 50 bridges spanning the White River for bridge painting operations. During the project, one lane in each direction will remain open. The closures will be in place around the clock.
Bridge painting is a vital operation for keeping bridges in good working order. Painting helps prevent corrosion on bridge components and also helps inspectors find maintenance issues more easily.
Depending upon weather conditions work is expected to be complete by early June. Inclement weather could cause delays in the operation. INDOT urges drivers to slow down and stay alert near crews.
