Friends Of Spring Mill Host Annual Meeting

(MITCHELL) – The Friends of Spring Mill State Park invite the public to attend their annual meeting at the Spring Mill Inn on Thursday at 6 p.m.

The group of volunteers has been working hard in the past year to support several new and innovative projects at Spring Mill State Park. The group is proud of their accomplishments and will share what they did in 2018, and what they’re working on in 2019.

The Friends are also looking for ideas that people want to see them work on in the future. Anyone is welcome, and they would be happy to sign up more members.
The volunteer group works to preserve, restore, and interpret the natural and cultural heritage of the park. There are ample opportunities to help with projects in the park, make or sell craft items for visitors, write grants, or provide input as a member and stay informed.

The meeting will be in the Oak Room, just off the dining room at the Inn. There will be refreshments and door prizes. Teena Ligman, President of the Friends of Spring Mill State Park, noted, “I hope for a good turn out to share what our amazing team of volunteers has accomplished. We are excited about what we’ve done and what we’ve planned, and hope people come out so we can share that enthusiasm.”

Ligman noted, “Spring Mill is such an incredible park, if everyone who appreciates what the park offers joined the Friends group, just the $15 dues alone would allow us to do a lot more things. But, if we had all those people’s ideas at the table, and their energy and time helping us, just think what value-added we could give back to the Park!”

Ligman said we are lucky to have such dedicated volunteers working together to help make the park better and she’s appreciative of her fellow Friends. For more information about the annual meeting email friendsof.springmillstatepark@yahoo.com
