Bonnie Sue Thomas, 78, of Bloomington, passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2019, at Golden Living Nursing Home, Bloomington.
Born April 21, 1940, in Taswell, Indiana, she was the daughter of Seth and Auda (Fodge) Thomas.
She married Robert J. Fields and he preceded her in death on April 8, 2006. Bonnie retired from Carpenters in Mitchell, Indiana. She attended Dive Christian Church. She was a past member of the Eagles and Moose Lodge.
Bonnie loved cake decorating and was an avid collector of things. She was a force to be reckoned with but she will be missed by all who knew her.
Survivors include her daughter, Victoria C. (Fields) Lopez; grandson, Adam C. Jones; nieces and nephews, Julia (Kevin) Taylor and John Thomas, of Bluffton, Rodney (Penny) Thomas, of Greenfield; Dorothy (Jim) Barrett, of Bedford, and Marie (Jerry) Whooten, of Kentucky; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; son, Timothy Eugene Thomas; one sister, A.Diane Patton; brothers, Seth E., Dallas L., and James E. Thomas; and nephew, Mark Tolbert.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 23, 2019, at the Ferguson-Lee Chapel of Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes, with Pastor Mike Eads officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Mt. Lebanon Cemetery in French Lick, Indiana. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the service hour Saturday at the funeral chapel.

Carmen I. (Barger) Young – Bedford

Carmen went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, March 20, 2019, at 9:35 a.m. at Garden Villa in Bedford.
She was born to Arthur Franklin and Myrtle Mercer Barger on August 31, 1926, in Greenville, Kentucky. Her senior year they moved to Detroit, Michigan where she graduated from the High School of Commerce.
She married Richard Merle Young on September 12, 1946, in Detroit Michigan and he preceded her in death, along with her parents and one sister Dorothy Vohnell Watkins.
She is survived by one daughter Susan (Bob) Evans of Bedford, one son Richard (Rick) Young and fiancé Julie Payne of Arcadia, FL. Three grandchildren, Trevor Evans of Lafayette, IN, Matt Evans of North Port, FL, and Kristen (Tim) Hyde of Bedford. Seven great-grandchildren, Aspen (Ben) Eckhart, Parker and Lukas Evans, Alexis Evans, Peyton, Briley and Taylor Hyde. Several nieces and nephews.
She was the Avon lady of Oolitic where she resided for over 50 years. She was also a former Girl Scout leader and a member of the local AARP chapter, and Bedford Senior Citizens. She retired from RCA in Bloomington in 1983 where she was a member of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Bedford, where she had been active in the Woman’s Missionary group. As a teenager, she knitted sweaters for the Red Cross to be given to the servicemen. When she was raising her family, she would knit toboggans giving them to family and friends. In 2005 she started to knit scarves for the heart patients at Bedford Regional Medical Center and in her later years, you could catch her sitting at the table in the dining room at Garden Villa reading books by her favorite author Danielle Steel.
Viewing will be from 10 a.m. until the funeral at 1 p.m., Friday, March 22, 2019, at Day and Carter Mortuary with Nathan Sundt and Lee Brown officiating. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Bob Evans, Tim Hyde, Trevor Evans, Matt Evans, Parker Evans, and Larry Arnold.
