Two Arrested After Driver Stopped For Traffic Violation

(BEDFORD) – Two men were arrested early Friday morning after a Bedford Police officer stopped the driver for a traffic violation.


At 1:29 a.m. Bedford Police Officer Clayton Blackburn, stopped a vehicle being driven by 28-year-old Grant Walcott for a traffic violation.
Officer Blackburn observed a powdery substance on the center console of the vehicle that he believed to be a narcotic drug. K-9 Ciro conducted a free air sniff of the exterior of the vehicle and alerted officers to the presence of drugs inside the vehicle.
Officers searched the vehicle and located approximately 24 grams of meth and 14 grams of heroin.

Police arrested Walcott of Bloomington on felony charges of dealing meth over 10 grams, dealing in a narcotic drug over 10 grams, possession of meth between 10 and 28 grams, possession of a narcotic drug, and he was cited for driving left of center and speeding

Police also arrested his passenger 29-year-old Ryan Zike of Martinsville on charges of felony charges of dealing meth over 10 grams, dealing in a narcotic drug over 10 grams, possession of meth between 10 and 28 grams, possession of a narcotic drug, and a Johnson County warrant for petition to revoke probation
