Gas Prices Expected To Increase

(BEDFORD) – You might want to fill up today before gas gets more expensive. “The rise in the price of oil is pushing up gas prices,” says petroleum analyst Patrick Dehaan of GasBuddy.

He says it is also the time of year where gas becomes more expensive to produce. “We are starting the seasonal change from winter to summer gasoline. That’s a transition that takes a couple of months and refineries are beginning maintenance season which is limiting how much oil they’re putting into their facilities. At the end of the day, all of those factors mean higher gas prices.”
AAA reports drivers in Lawrence County are paying around $2.27 per gallon.
