(MITCHELL) – A Mitchell man was injured in a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of State Road 37 and Wesley Chapel Road on Thursday afternoon.
According to a Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department report, 59-year-old John Engler of Mitchell was traveling west on Wesley Chapel Road in a 2013 Ford Econoline F-450 and was crossing the intersection of State Road 37 and didn’t see the 2019 Jeep Wrangler driven by 32-year-old Devin Chumley of Mitchell.
Police says as Engler crossed over the southbound lane of State Road 37 he failed to yield the right of way and the two vehicles collided.
Engler was not injured. Chumley complained of back pain.
