(BEDFORD) – A Bedford man was injured after a deer ran into the path of his vehicle on Elkins Road Friday night.
According to a Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department report, 21-year-old James Ford was traveling west on Elkins Road in his 2018 Chevrolet Cruze and was about to enter a curve when a deer ran from the north side of the road into the path of his car.
Ford swerved to miss the deer and crashed into an AT&T pole breaking the pole in half.
Ford suffered minor bleeding to his face and was treated at the scene by an AMR ambulance crew and members of the Pleasant Run Volunteer Fire Department first responders.
