Woman Arrested After Not Enough Mayo On Sandwich

(BLOOMINGTON) – A Bloomington woman was arrested Wednesday after she became angry with a family member about the lack of mayonnaise on her sandwich.


Officers were called to the home in the 900 block of West Cascade Avenue at 6:47 p.m. Wednesday.
According to Bloomington Police, 55-year-old Debra Roof sliced the left thumb of a 31-year-old man with a steak knife after he ventured out into the cold buy her a sandwich and cigarettes. Roof became angry because there was not enough mayonnaise on her sandwich and that the male kept her $1.21 in charge from the purchases.
After being cut on the finger, the man threw the pack of cigarettes and the change at Roof and called the police.
Roof told police she had been using a knife to cut her sandwich when she accidentally cut the man who had reached for her plate.
The man did not seek medical treatment for the cut.
Roof was arrested on a charge of domestic battery and taken to the Monroe County Jail where she is being held on a $5,500 bond.
