Photos Needed For Lawrence County Bicentennial Book

(BEDFORD) – The Lawrence County Bicentennial committee is putting together a book full of pictures from a large number of people from our amazing county.

One section of the book is called Rhythm of the County. This is where the public can make photo contributions from the people of Lawrence County from their lives in 2018. Officials, want to document the rhythm and the color of the lives from every nook and cranny of Lawrence County.
Another section of the Bicentennial Book will be titled Honoring our Past. For this section, photos are needed of the county’s rich and unique history. The Lawrence County History Museum has a large collection of pictures but officials are also looking for pictures that have not been published in local history books
This section will cover the time periods from 1818 to 1917 and 1918 to 2017.
Pictures for consideration in the book must be submitted by Feb. 28, 2019.
All submissions of pictures should meet the following criteria:

  • High resolution digital at 300 dpi or better. (When scanning in photos, images that are 8″x10″ and larger must be scanned in at 300 dpi. Images that are smaller than 8″x10″ need to be scanned in at 600 dpi, or at least 200% of actual size.)
  • All pictures should be from 2018. Recent pictures (less than 3 years) may be submitted. However, preference will be given to 2018 pictures
  • The caption information should include names of all people in the picture, date taken, location, and a few words (20-50 words) of the “story” about the picture.
