Indiana University Student Charged With Rape

(BLOOMINGTON) – A 19-year-old Indiana University student was arrested on a charge of rape Friday.

According to Bloomington police, a woman told them 19-year-old John Schwarts had raped her at her house between 2 a.m. and 3 a.m. on Thursday. She reported the rape around 2:30 p.m. Friday.
Schwartz is an IU student living at the Sigma Pi fraternity house.
The 20-year-old woman told police she started talking to Schwartz on Instagram on Tuesday. He came to her house on Thursday night.
She, Schwartz, and one of the woman’s roommates were in the living room when Schwartz kept suggesting they go to the woman’s bedroom and lay down. All three went to the bedroom where Schwartz and the woman laid on the bed, and the roommate sat on the floor. The roommate told them she was uncomfortable and left.
That is when Schwartz made an advance on the woman. Police say the woman turned his advances down. But Schwartz kept after the woman as she repeatedly told him no. He then grabbed and raped her.
The woman told police she had told Schwartz no at least ten times.
