City Of Bloomington Utilities Advises Residents To Allow Faucets To Drip During Sub-Zero Temperatures

(BLOOMINGTON) – With temperatures predicted below 0 degrees on Tuesday and Wednesday, the City of Bloomington Utilities advises residents to leave a small stream of water flowing from faucets in homes and businesses to help prevent costly and damaging pipe breaks caused from water freezing in the pipes.

It is most important to allow faucets located on outside-facing walls to drip, but even the smallest stream of water flowing through the meter from any faucet in the building will help prevent the meter from freezing during very cold temperatures.
