IU Tops Illinois, Improve To 3-0 In Big Ten Play

(BLOOMINGTON, IN) – Romeo Langford scored a game-high 28 points as the Indiana Hoosiers topped Illinois 73-65 to improve to 3-0 in Big Ten conference play and run their winning streak to seven games.

Langford added six rebounds, three assists, and a steal, while Juwan Morgan had a 15 point and 10 rebound double-double as well as four steals and a block.
“I thought it was my best game so far, all around, maybe on the defensive end too,” Langford said.
IU forced the Illini into 21 turnovers. After a shaky start, the Hoosiers locked it down on defense, limiting Illinois to 35 percent shooting from 9:11 left in the first half until the final whistle.
The Hoosiers face a huge order on Sunday when they visit the No. 2-ranked Michigan Wolverines in Ann Arbor.
“It will be a dogfight for sure,” head coach Archie Miller said. “We know Michigan is a great defensive team, so we have to really run our stuff and be crisp on that end.”
