Eva Covey – Bedford

Eva Covey, 97, of Bedford, went home to be with her Lord at 10:50 a.m. on Sunday, September 16, 2018.
Born, January 28, 1921 in Monroe Co., she was the daughter of Elisha and Sereptha (Butcher) Frye. She married William C. “Buster” Covey on March 11, 1939, and he preceded her in death. She was a homemaker and attended Hilltop Pentecostal Church and Gulletts Creek
Baptist Church.
Survivors include her three daughters, Nelda Jean Crider and Betty Jo (Gary) Henderson, both of Bedford, and Judith K.
(Don Bowden) Thompson, of Orleans; seven grandchildren, Bud (Marcy) Simmerman, Amanda (Matt) Blake, Jared Henderson, Allen Thompson, Carol Houchin, Karen Jarred, and Jason Covey; eleven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild, and a daughter-in-law, Sally Covey Burton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Carl Dean Covey; four brothers, Leco, Alfred, Roscoe, and Freland Frye; a sister, Arbutis Branam;
a son-in-law, Joe Crider.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Thursday, September 20th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. Bill Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, September 19th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.

Nancy Sue Tumey – Bedford

Nancy Sue Tumey, 78, of Bedford, passed away on Sunday, September 16, 2018, at McCormick’s Creek Rehabilitation in Spencer.
Born June 7, 1940, in Bloomington, she was the daughter of Loren Drake and Thelma (Hacker) Rush. Nancy was a homemaker. She loved spending time with her family, especially her twelve grandchildren.
Survivors include her five children, Kathy L. Tumey, Kenny G. Tumey, Donna S. (Tumey) Kinser, Dennis D. Tumey, and Dee Atwood; twelve grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Michael Tumey; and grandson, Benjamin Robert Ray.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 19, 2018, at the Ferguson-Lee Chapel of Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes, with Pastor Danny Goens officiating. Burial will be in Beech Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the service hour at the funeral chapel.

Theresa Dianne Williams – Loogootee

Theresa Dianne Williams, 70, of Loogootee, passed away Monday, September 17, 2018, at her residence.
She was born February 28, 1948, in Martin County to Mary (Ash) and William Jarvis Crays. She attended St John’s Catholic School in Loogootee and was a homemaker. She enjoyed watching old westerns, NBA Basketball, the Walking Dead and doing crossword puzzles.
She is survived by; one daughter Christine (Donald) Noe of Loogootee; two sons William Like of Winslow and Tony (Heather) Williams of Winslow; two sisters Connie Kelley of Loogootee and Carole Hembree of Tennessee; two brothers, George Crays of Loogootee and James Crays of Loogootee; three granddaughters, Nikki Williams, Chanda Divine and Laura Evans; five grandsons; James Like, Rusty Jones, Zachary Head, Jacob Williams, and Tyler Divine; four great grand-daughters and two great-grandsons.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday at the Queen-Lee Chapel in Shoals with burial in the St. Josephs Cemetery in Bramble. Visitation will be 11 a.m. until the time of service on Friday at the funeral home.
The Queen-Lee Chapel of the Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes is in charge of the arrangements.
