Henry Ty “Hank” South – Bedford
September 27, 1955 – September 1, 2018
Henry Ty “Hank” South, 62, of Bedford, passed away Saturday, September 1, 2018, at Indiana University Health Hospice House in Bloomington.
Born September 27, 1955, in Indianapolis, he was the son of Paul H. and Veleda R. (Betzler) South. He married Rebecca Jane Fleener February 7, 2008.
Hank was an investigator for Child Protective Services and was a strong advocate for Alcoholics Anonymous. He loved Jesus and attended Bethel Country Church.
Survivors include his wife, Rebecca South of Bedford; children, Timothy Wayne (Ashlea) Moody of Springville, Alyssa Alexandra (Lacey) Martin of Bloomington; grandchildren, Adalea Inman, Nora Jean, Ian Jude, and Anna Claire Moody; siblings, Terri (Gary) Esham of Sun City Center, Florida, Steven J. (Marilyn) South of Rockford, Illinois, Victoria D. (Gary) Ridgeway of Hope Mills, North Carolina, Valeria B. Campbell of Carmel, Robert E. South of Carmel; several nieces and nephews; mother-in-law, Sue A. Fleener of Mitchell
His parents; son, Sheldon Lee Gearlds; siblings, Paul E. South and Nancy L. Smith; and special niece, Jennifer S. South, preceded him in death.
Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 7, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Sister Becky Ryan officiating. Burial will be in Lost River Primitive Baptist Cemetery. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the service on Friday at the funeral home.

Bert Everett Mounce, 69, of Mitchell, passed away Saturday, September 1, 2018, at St. Vincent Dunn Hospital in Bedford.
Born September 4, 1948, in Lawrence County, he was the son of Greenie and Ruby (York) Mounce. He married Linda Faye Cooney, July 9, 1967.
Bert drove Bus No. 19 for Mitchell Community Schools 30+ years. He had also been employed at Shelby Trucking for ten years. Bert enjoyed farming and rebuilding tractors.
Survivors include his wife, Linda F. Mounce of Mitchell; children, Laura (Jody) Benham of Mitchell, Bert E. Mounce II of Mitchell; grandchildren, Steven (Shelby) Tillette, Brandee Cote, Kayla (Tony) Blanton, Raegan (Steven) Gilbert, Taylor (Andrew) Tomlinson, Bert E. Mounce III; step granddaughter, Sara Tillette; great grandchildren, Adrien and Masson Cote, Gannon Tillette, and Lexie Gilbert; step great granddaughter, McKenzi Tillette; siblings, Dorothy (Robert) Terrell of Bedford, Sharon (John) Russell of Mitchell, Jake (Joyce) Mounce of Mitchell, Judy (Sonny) Kern of Mitchell, Betty (Leslie) Hart of Norman, Danny (Becky) Mounce of Mitchell ; several nieces and nephews
His parents; daughter, Lana Tillette; son-in-law, Steve Tillette; brother, Charles Mounce; sister, Sue Terry; and several nieces and nephews preceded him in death.
Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, September 5, at Mitchell Cemetery with Pastor Robert Brown officiating. Friends may call from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. Tuesday at Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center.
