Kenneth W. Root – Bedford

Kenneth W. Root, 90, of Bedford, died at 8:47 p.m. on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at his residence.
Born August 5, 1927 in Bedford, he was the son of Robert F. and Minnie (Shirley) Root. He married Dorothy June
Blunk on September 13, 1948 and she preceded him in death on May 4, 1989. He retired as a pipefitter from
General Motors in Bedford and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during WW II.
Survivors include a son, Tony Root, of Bedford; two daughters, Bobbette Root and Dawn Kluesner, both of
Bedford; a grandson, Dustin Kluesner; a granddaughter, Cinnamon Kelley; a great grandson, Shawn Kluesner; a
great-granddaughter, Bailee Kelley; a sister, Evelyn McGregor, of Bedford; a brother, Bob Root, of Bedford;
several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a son, Gerald Wayne “Gary” Root; two sisters, Mildred Fields and Roberta Kerr.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Saturday, August 4th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Dr. Bob Courson officiating. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, August 3rd and from 11 a.m. until the hour of service on Saturday, August 4th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.

Arabella Grace Harkness, passed away at 7:20 a.m. on Saturday, July 20, 2018 at I.U. Health Paoli Hospital due
to pregnancy complications.
She was the daughter of Jasen Clay Harkness and Hope Victoria Bauer and they survive.
Other survivors include the maternal grandparents, Brandon and Amanda Bauer; paternal grandparents,
Jeremy Harkness and Melody Mattingly.
Memorial services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, August 5th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Deb Doyle officiating.
