Deloris E. (Gaddis) Fettic – Shoals
April 7, 1931 – January 11, 2018
Deloris E. (Gaddis) Fettic, 86, formally of Shoals, passed away on January 11, 2018 at the Washington Nursing Center.
She was born April 7, 1931, in Martin County to James B. and Ruby (Zollars) Gaddis. She married Don Fettic and he preceded her in death. She graduated from Shoals High School, was employed at RCA in Bloomington and later as a research librarian at the Corydon Public Library. She was a member of the Shoals Christian Church.
Survivors include a sister, Hazel Davis and husband Frank of Shoals and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death are her parents, husband, sisters; Nina Figg, Dorothy Gaddis, Beulah Gaddis, Dola Edington and brothers Roy Gaddis and Floyd Gaddis.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 18, 2018 at the Shoals Christian Church with Bro. Matt Sullivan officiating. Burial Will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from Noon until 2 p.m. at the Church.
The Queen-Lee Chapel of the Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes is in charge of the arrangements.
Jean LaVon Blendowski – Bedford

Jean LaVon Blendowski, 86, of Bedford, died Saturday, January 13, 2018 at Johnson’s Christian Village.
Born June 27, 1931 in Avoca, she was the daughter of Earl G. and Martha Z. (Mitchell) Evans. She married Joseph John Blendowski on June 24, 1951 and he preceded her in death on March 11, 2010. She was a graduate of the Bedford High School with the class of 1949 and a homemaker. She was a Pink Lady volunteer for many years, loved her cats, and was an avid Cubs fan. She was a gardener who grew many flowers, specifically roses, which she entered in several shows.
Survivors include a daughter, Martha J. Arnold, of Mitchell; two sons, Vincent S. Blendowski and wife, Judy, Orange Park, FL and John G. Blendowski and wife, Debbie, of Shoals; nine grandchildren, Jennifer McNeely, Michelle Roush, Bryan Burkhart, Brandi Goodreau, Tracey Blendowski, Tara Arnold, Jennie Blendowski, Joe Blendowski, and Mark Blendowski; fourteen great grandchildren, Madison McNeely, Olivia Varvel, Luke Burkhart, Max Goodreau, Ashley Burkhart, Kaley Roush, Collin Roush, Ellie Roush, Jake Stroud, Gabby McNeely, Jasmine Jackson, Jordon Jackson, Justin Jackson, and Jalynn Blackwell.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a sister, Loretta June Owen; a son, Jim J. Blendowski, and a son-in- law, Bill L. Arnold.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Thursday, January 18th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Denise Newland officiating. Burial will follow in the Green Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the hour of service on Thursday at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
Pallbearers are: John Blendowski, Vince Blendowski, Jake Stroud, Bryan Burkhart, Cody Roush, and Collin Roush.
The family asks that friends consider memorial contributions be made to the White River Humane Society.

Susan Twanette East – Bedford

Susan Twanette East, 71, of Bedford, formerly of Columbus, died at 4:50 on Thursday, January 11, 2018 at the White River Lodge.
Born May 12, 1946 in Lawrence County she was the daughter of Vernon and Margaret (Ollis) Haws. She was a graduate of Tunnelton High School with the class of 1964. She had worked at the Medora Plastics Factory, Superior Auto Parts, and, most recently, at McDonald’s Restaurant until Multiple Sclerosis disabled her. She attended the
Garden City Church of Christ.
Survivors include two sons: Darren East of Kentucky and Devin East, and wife, Jill, of Columbus, IN; five grandchildren: Jacob, Jesse, Kaliah, Quincy, and Corbin East; three sisters: Trudy Brown and husband Johnny of Norman, IN, Niki Wesner and husband Alan of Leesville, IN, and Raenel Gibson and husband Mike of Ohio; 3 step-grandchildren, Chris, Dustin and Angel; three step great grandchildren, Hailey, Sam and Layla; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, January 17th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Mark Haffenbridel officiating. Burial will follow in the Pinhook Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Wednesday, January 17th. The family asks that friends consider memorial contributions be made to the White River Lodge or the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
