Kellie Jo Johnson, 52, of Mitchell, passed away Wednesday, October 4, 2017, at Hosparus Inpatient Care Center in Louisville, Kentucky.
Born June 9, 1965, in Ft. Campbell, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Albert Tolbert and Shirley (Caraway) Bowden. She married Joey R. Johnson June 10, 1983.
Kellie was an LPN and had been employed at Hoosier Uplands and Rest Care Home Health. She was a member of the First Church of God and attended the Bride of Christ Fellowship Church. Kellie graduated from Mitchell High School in 1983. She loved animals and flowers, and enjoyed being outdoors with friends and family. Kellie was very proud of her boys.
Surviving: husband, Joe Johnson of Mitchell; sons, Brandon J. Johnson of Mitchell; Kyle Joe Johnson of Mitchell; father and stepmother, Albert and Karen Tolbert of Mitchell; mother and stepfather, Shirley and Wayne Bowden of Mitchell; sister, Shellie (Steve) Hinds of Florida; brothers, Wes (Jeanie) Tolbert of Mitchell; Doug (Carrie) Tolbert of Mitchell; half sisters, Crystal (Mike) Miller of Mitchell; Christie Steed of Oklahoma; half brother, Jason Bowden of Mitchell; any nieces and nephews
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 7, at the Bride of Christ Fellowship Church with Brother Jerry Allen and Reverend Paul Flores officiating. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 p.m. – 7 p.m. Friday at Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center, and from 10 a.m. until the service on Saturday at the church.
