Tony Ray Kesterson – Mitchell
February 26, 1966 – May 14, 2017
Tony Ray Kesterson, 51, of Mitchell, passed away Sunday, May 14, 2017, at St. Vincent Dunn Hospital in Bedford.
Born February 26, 1966, in Paoli, he was the son of Carl and Hazel Faye (Marshall) Kesterson. Tony was employed at Jason Jones Trucking.
Survivors include his daughter, Latessa Kesterson of Mitchell; grandson, Izayah Bell; brother, Carl Kesterson of Orleans
His parents preceded him in death.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, May 19, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Nathan King officiating. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the service on Friday at the funeral home.

Breonna LaRea (Shirley) Simmons – Bedford

Breonna LaRea (Shirley) Simmons, 25, of Bedford, went to be with her heavenly father on Friday, May 12, 2017 at the Indiana University Health Hospice House after a long bout with T-Cell Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.
Born January 17, 1992, in Bedford; she was the daughter of Brent and Christy (Shake) Shirley.
She married Tyranza M. Simmons on December 27, 2014, and he survives.
Breonna graduated from BNL High School with the Class of 2010 and University of Southern Indiana with the Class of 2014. She was a dental hygienist. She was a member of First Assembly of God, Bedford. Breonna was also a member of Glenda Cancer Support Group, Evansville.
Surviving are her husband, Tyranza Simmons; daughter, Marcella Grace; step-son, Jaylen; parents, Brent and Christy Shirley; sisters, Allie (Jacob) Weaver and Deanna Shirley; paternal grandmother, Kay Hackney; maternal grandmother, Patty Jones and Don (Deborah) Shake; mother-in-law, Jerlene Simmons; father-in-law, Terry (Pam) Simmons; sister-in-law, Terrie Simmons; brother-in-law, Josh Simmons; grandfather Clete Bauman; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Clyde Shirley; and uncle, Donnie Shake.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m.. on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at the Ferguson-Lee Chapel of Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes, with Pastor Phil Thorne officiating. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Ferguson-Lee Chapel to assist the family with funeral expenses.

Ronald Wayne Newby – Lake Placid, Florida

Ronald Wayne Newby, 67, formerly of Mitchell, passed away Wednesday, May 10, 2017, in Sebring, Florida.
Born August 24, 1949, in Noblesville, he was the son of Townsend Wayne and Anna Lorene (Bentley) Newby. He married Helen Louise McPherson September 3, 1967. Ron retired from General Electric. Ron enjoyed playing golf and Texas Holden Poker, following NASCAR and the “PBR.” He was a veteran of the Indiana Army National Guard and a member of American Legion Post No. 25 in Lake Placid, and a lifelong member of the Moose Lodge No. 540 in Noblesville, Indiana.
Surviving by his wife, Helen Louise Newby of 50 years; children, Doris Anne Voorhies of Anderson, Malinda Gayle Cazee of Frostproof, Florida, Ronald Wayne (Erin) Newby, Jr. of Freetown, Sarah Lynn (Chris) Piper of Mitchell; 13 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; siblings, Malinda Learned of Lapel, Juanita Miller of Arizona, Sandra Sweitzer of Arizona
His parents; brother, Roger Newby; son-in- law, “Bo” Voorhies; brother-in- law, Ed Learned; sister-in- law, Lucy Riddle; mother-in- law, Maxine (Morris) McPherson; and father-in- law, Medford Wayne McPherson; preceded him in death.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 18th, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery with military rites accorded by American Legion Gillen Post No. 33. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday, and from 10 a.m. until the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
