Mary E. Warren – Bedford

Mary E. Warren, 97, of Bedford died at 7:35 pm on Wednesday, March 15, 2017.
Born December 17, 1919 in Monroe County, she was the daughter of James Franklin and Luverna (Burks) Craig. She was a member of the Williams Church of Christ and had been a volunteer at the Bedford Nursing Home. She had worked 18 years as a machine operator at RCA.
Survivors include two sons: Roland Warren, of Gulf Port, MS, and Steve Warren, and his wife Donna, of Bedford; one daughter: Loretta Morehead, and her husband Robert, of Colorado Springs, CO; two granddaughters: Xan Warren of Cookville, TN, Nichole Krahenbuhl, and her husband Shawn, of Bedford, IN; one grandson: Robbie Warren, and his wife Mindy, of Bedford, IN; ten great-grandchildren: Ryan Krahenbuhl, Tyler Krahenbuhl, Shyanna MacAdie, Michaella Sullivan, Aquinnah McLaughlin, Dalton Cooper, Bailey Cooper, Britta Warren, Bella Warren, and Beau Warren; four great great-grandchildren: Keagan, Atreyu, Hailey, and Wynter; one sister: Pauline Willis of Shaumburg, IL; daughter-in- law, Betty.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Leonard Dean Warren; one grandson Raymond Lee Warren; five brothers: Cleophus Craig, Amos William Craig, Herschel Leo Craig, and Raymond Craig, Everett Craig; two sisters, Ruth Davis and Ethel May Craig.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 21st in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Paul Guthrie officiating. Burial will follow in the Clear Creek Cemetery at 12:30 p.m. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Monday, March 20th at the Day & Carter Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bedford North Lawrence Community Scholarship Foundation.
The family would like to Thank the staff at Stonebridge Health Campus, Garden Villa, and Melanie Hacker and staff with the TASC bus for the love and care they showed Mary for many years.

Jason T. Bailey – Bedford

Jason T. Bailey, 43, of Bedford died at 1:01 pm on Friday, March 17, 2017.
Born May 6, 1973 in Lawrence County he was the son of Dennis “Denny” and G. Susie (Fish) Bailey. He was a Transfer Station Operator for Lawrence County Solid Waste Management District. He was a member of the Mundell Christian Church and an avid hunter.
Survivors include his mother, G. Susie Bailey, of Bedford; one daughter, Andrea Bailey, of Bedford; one son, Mason Bailey, of Bedford; a grandson, Brynn Houlette; his loving companion, Lisa Wilcoxen, of Bedford; one brother, Jared Bailey and his wife Brittany, of Bedford; Uncles: David Fish and his wife Donna, of Bedford, Duane Bailey and his wife Dana, of Bedford, and Gerald Whitted and his wife Marjorie, of Heltonville; Aunts: Verla Norman and her husband Don, of Brownstown, JoAnne Bailey, of Bedford, Marian Bartlett and her husband Joe, of Bedford, Marilyn Grissom, of FL, Annie Hornback and husband Arvil, of Greenwood, Annette Bailey, of Heltonville, Rita Gray and husband Raymond, of Salem, Shana Hobson and husband Mike, of Bedford, Kay Fish, of Springville.
He was preceded in death by father Denny; grandparents, Fred Fish, Ira “Babe” and Thelma Fish Breedlove, and Bill and Gladys Bailey; one aunt, Gloria Bailey; uncles, Ronnie Fish, Carl Bailey, Alfred Fish, Roger Bailey, and Lester Bailey.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, March 21st at the Mundell Christian Church with John Wisley officiating. Burial will follow in Mundell Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Monday, March 20th at Mundell Christian Church, and from 11 a.m. until the hour of service on Tuesday at Mundell Christian Church.

Louis Franklin “Doodle” Briscoe – Bedford

Louis Franklin “Doodle” Briscoe, 90,of Bedford, left this world surrounded by loved ones on Thursday, March 16, 2017, at his residence.
Born September 18, 1926, in Mitchell, he was one of twelve children born to Ora Virgil and Hopal Vera (Matthew) Briscoe. He married the love of his life, Marjorie June Ray, March 19, 1949, and she preceded him in death August 17, 2010.
He was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II and the recipient of the Good Conduct Medal, Pacific Ribbon, Expert Rifleman, and Victory Medal. He was a member of American Legion Gillen Post No. 33. Doodle was also a member of Masonic Lodge No. 14 F. & A. M., Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis, Murat Shrine, Mitchell Senior Citizens, and First Christian Church in Bedford. Doodle retired from Carpenter Body Works, and was co-owner, with his brother, Richard, of Briscoe Mobile Homes before retiring. He then worked with his brother, Basil, doing carpentry work. Those who knew Doodle knew how much he enjoyed working with his hands, such as carpentry, woodworking, and just keeping busy. He built his own go-cart and enjoyed racing it. After he stopped racing, he loved watching sprint cars, especially Kevin and Chase. An avid card player, he especially looked forward to his Wednesday night game with Richard, David, Annick, Pauline, Bonnie, and Danny. He loved dancing with all his friends, and going to the boat also filled his retirement years. Doodle and Margie certainly dedicated their lives to their family. Doodle was someone who truly lived his life of 90 years……….wooeee!!!!!!
Survivors daughter, Vickie (David) Cosner of Bedford, son, Danny (Terri) Briscoe of Bedford; grandchildren, Mark (Trisha) Cosner, Clint (Missy) Cosner, Lori (Jay) Faubion, and Stephanie (Wes) Johnson; great grandchildren, Katie (Morgan) Cummings, Kenna Cosner, Sidney Faubion, Haley, Johnson, Hannah Johnson, Colton Johnson, and Abby (Jared), Hargis; great great granddaughter, Piper Hargis; siblings, Robert (June) Briscoe of Bloomington, Leroy (Shirley) Briscoe of Mitchell, Richard (Charlotte) Briscoe of Mitchell, Basil (Karen) Briscoe of Mitchell, Bonnie Duncan of Bedford
His parents; wife; and siblings, James Briscoe, Walter “Bus” Briscoe, Wilbur Briscoe, Fern Watson, Ruby Smith, and Frances Briscoe, preceded him in death.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Reverend Bruce Ervin officiating. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery with military honors accorded by Cecil C. Martin American Legion Post No. 250 and Marvin R. Davis Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9107. Friends may call from 5 p.m. till 8 p.m. Monday and from 10:00 a.m. until the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
