Joyce L. (Nickless) Baker – Williams
August 1, 1947-February 11, 2017
Joyce L. (Nickless) Baker, 69, of Williams died at 6:32 a.m. on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at her residence.
Born August 1, 1947 in Bedford she was the daughter of Paul and Helen Jean (Reynolds) Nickless. She married Scotty L. Baker on May 31, 1965 and he survives. She had worked as a nurse on the mother-baby unit at the IU Health Bloomington Hospital and prior to that had also been a school bus driver for many years as well as worked for the welfare department. Joyce was a member of Seventh Day Adventist Church. She loved to sew, plant flowers, spend time with her family.
Survivors include her husband, Scotty of Bedford; five children: Leah Maple and husband David of Orleans, Eric Baker of Williams, Ursula Nash and husband Butch of Mitchell, Adrian Baker of Williams, Jeromy Baker of Williams; eight grandchildren: Brandon Nash and wife Dara, Christian Nash and companion Deidre, Cole Nash, Chandelor Nash, Graham Nash, Cain Hopper, Clay Hopper, Kalyn White; siblings: Barbara Baxter and husband Jim of Williams, Paul Nickless and wife Pat of Westfield, Paula Nickless of Nashville, TN, Tim Nickless of Williams; three nieces: Tammy Baxter, Aimee Harvey, Jamie Nickless; two nephews: Travis Watkins, Shannon Baxter; several great nieces and nephews; and family friend, Jamie Sears.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, February 14th
at the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Steven DeLong officiating. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Monday, February 13th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.

Opal Dale Deckard – Bedford

Opal Dale Deckard, 91, of Bedford, died at 2:10 p.m. on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at White River Lodge.
Born October 11, 1925 in Lawrence Co., he was the son of Wesley J. and Belva (Meadows) Deckard. He married Thelma Phillips on November 20, 1943 and she survives. He was a retired farmer. He attended the Grace Full Gospel Church. He loved farming, his family and playing guitar and singing.
Survivors include his wife, Thelma, of Bedford; one son, Philip Deckard and wife Sharon (Holmes) of Bedford; one grandson, Carey Dale Deckard and wife Janelle (Fultz) of Bedford; two great-granddaughters, Madelyn Grace Deckard and Meredith Elaine Deckard, both of Bedford; one sister, Vernice Ross of Bedford; one sister-in- law, Ada Deckard of Bedford; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wesley and Belva Deckard; one brother, Vestal Deckard; and one sister, Loretta Hill.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, February 15th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Brent O’Neal officiating. Burial will follow in Hanson Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. till 8 p.m. on Tuesday, February 14th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hanson Cemetery Trust Fund. Donations can either be dropped off at Day & Carter Mortuary, or mailed to Day & Carter Mortuary P.O. Box 905 Bedford, IN 47421.

Ralph Turner Sr. – Mitchell
Graveside service for Ralph Turner, Sr., who passed away February 4, will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday, February 14, at Lawrenceport Cemetery with military honors accorded by American Legion Post No. 250 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9107.
