Joyce L. Phillips, 79, of Springville, left us to go home, her eternal home, at 7:00 pm on Friday, February 10, 2016 at the White River Lodge.
Born June 18, 1937 in Charlestown, IL she was the daughter of Hobert and Edith (Anderson) Godsey. She married Wendell Phillips on November 13, 1952 and he survives. She was a pastor’s wife homemaker, and the Secretary of Springville Pentecostal Mission for 23 years. She was a lifelong member of Springville Pentecostal Mission Church.
Survivors include; her husband Pastor Wendell of Springville; two sons: Kenneth L. Phillips of Springville, and Rev. Douglas E. Phillips and wife Lori of English; two daughters: Kathy J. Phillips of Springville, and Kay Churchman and husband Jim of Pekin; a daughter-in-law, Marilyn Phillips of Springville; two brothers: Earl Godsey and wife Mary, and James Godsey and wife Roseanne both of Springville; 11 grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Rev. Alan L. Phillips, and two brothers, Donald, and Paul Godsey.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, February 15th at the Springville Pentecostal Mission Church with Pastor Doug Phillips, Pastor Keith Thompson, and Pastor Wayne Baker officiating. Burial will follow in the Springville West Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 until 8:00pm on Tuesday, February 14th at the Day & Carter Mortuary and from 9:00 am until the service hour on Wednesday, February 15th at the Springville Pentecostal Mission Church.
