Joe Ritchison – Bedford

Darrell (Joe) Ritchison, 64, of Bedford, died at 8:06 am on Friday, February 10, 2017 at I.U. Health Bedford Hospital.
Born June 6, 1952, in Lawrence Co., he was the son of Roy and Norma (Bridges) Ritchison. He married Kathy Jackson on June 25, 1993 and she survives. He retired from General Motors after thirty-four years as a tool and die maker. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post #33 and a wonderful husband, father and papaw. He was loved by many.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy, of Bedford; a daughter, Jodi Ritchison Wright; two sons, Bryce Mann and wife, Stacey, and Landon Lindley and wife, Amy; grandchildren, Zackary, Lucas and Lily Wright, Zoe, Mason, Ashtyn and Jaxtyn Mann, Daven, Nicholas and June Ann Lindley; a brother, Stan Ritchison and wife, Sandy; a sister, Debbie (Ritchison) Martin; nieces and nephews, Shelly Allen, Kimbery Torres, Stanley Ritchison, II, Jeffrey Perry, Dustin Perry and Joshua Britt. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Roger Wayne Ritchison and a sister, Juila Rose (Ritchison) Gorrell.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Monday, February 13th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Father Rick Eldred and Deacon Dave Reising officiating. Burial will follow in Proctor Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the hour of service on Monday, February 13th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.

Stanley E. Hicks – Bedford
January 16, 1927 – February 10, 2017
Stanley E. Hicks, 90, of Bedford, died at 8:43 am on Friday, February 10, 2017 at his residence.
Born January 16, 1927, in Walnut Heights in Lawrence Co., he was the son of Stanley and Mary Fay (Young) Hicks. He married Faye P. McKinney on July 28, 1947 and she preceded him in death on September 3, 2008. He was a graduate of the Oolitic High School with the class of 1944. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church for over thirty years, and a member of U.A.W. Local #440. He was a veteran of the Merchant Marines and an avid organic gardener for over sixty years. He retired after thirty-eight years as a tool grinder at General Motors.
Survivors include a son, Mike Hicks and wife, Debbie, of Springville; two daughters, Diana Ramsey and husband, Richard, of Springville and Sandy Cobb, of Bedford; eight grandchildren, Scott Ramsey, Jamie Cobb, Jody Cobb, Michelle True, Michael J. Hicks, Kristen Abbott, Jeff Hicks, and Brett Ramsey; thirteen great grandchildren, Logan Gore, Dylan Cobb, Jacob Ramsey, Garrett Ramsey, Morgan Cobb, Katlyn Ramsey, Grace Abbott, Chelsea Abbott, Boston True, Tucker True, Leo McKensie-Hicks, Maxwell Finger, and Anderson Hicks; a sister, Virginia Deckard, of Bedford; a special friend, Helen Spires. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Faye, grandsons, Hudson and Kirk True and a sister, Roberta Young.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am on Tuesday, February 14th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Mark Hafenbreidel officiating. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, February 13th and from 9:00 am until the hour of service on Tuesday, February 14th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
