Anita Kay Houston Melton Lozano – Bedford
December 29, 1951 – February 5, 2017
Anita Kay Houston Melton Lozano, 65, of Bedford, formerly of Lake Mary, FL, died Sunday, February 5, 2017 at St. Vincent Hospital in Bedford.
Born December 29, 1951 in Bedford, she was the daughter of Harold Houston and Margie (Murphy) Hamilton. She retired as manager of plant maintenance for the U.S. Postal Service.
Survivors include a daughter, Shelley Dial and husband, Matthew, of Zionsville; grandchildren, Noah and Aaron Dial of Zionsville; a brother, Dr. Gary Houston and wife, Rose, of Bedford; a niece, Denise Richason; a nephew, Joshua Houston; great nieces and nephews, Sophia, Kalvin, and Elyjah Houston, Makayla and Gavin Butler, Jaykob Nicholas, Trey Blanton, and Jalen Hodges.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorial services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Thursday, February 9th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Charlie Scott officiating. Burial will follow in the Mundell Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until the hour of service on Thursday, February 9th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.

Ralph Turner Sr. – Mitchell

Ralph Turner, Sr., 86, of Mitchell, passed away Saturday, February 4, 2017, at his residence.
Born March 3, 1930, in Lawrence County, he was the son of Dewey and Ollie (Jeffries) Turner. He married Anna Mae Treadway June 8, 1950, and she preceded him in death March 11, 2006.
Ralph retired from National Gypsum and was a U. S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of American Legion Post No. 250.
Survivors include his children, Regina Kay (Tony, Sr.) Tillette of Mitchell, Patricia Ann Genever Turner of Mitchell, Ricky Lee (Rhonda) Turner of Campbellsburg; 12 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren
His parents; wife; sons, Ralph Turner, Jr., and Allen Ray Turner; daughter-in- law, Debbie Turner; grandsons, Jamie Turner and Eric Turner; and great grandsons, Dakota Elliott and Skylar Tillette; and siblings, Frank Turner, Jim Turner, Sam Turner, Charles Turner, Kenny Turner, and Marie Tillette, preceded him in death.
Cremation was chosen with a graveside service at a later date at Lawrenceport Cemetery with military honors accorded by American Legion Post No. 250 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9107. There is no scheduled visitation at Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center.

Chase Aliano, 21, of Bedford, died Tuesday.

Ruby Sue Josephine Campbell – Shoals
Ruby Sue Josephine Campbell, 63, of Shoals, passed away at 5:36 a.m. on Friday, February 3, 2017 at the Jasper Memorial Hospital.
She was born on August 10, 1953 in Shoals to Sherman and Josephine (Moffet) Holt. She married William Frank Campbell on January 2, 1970 and he survives.
She was a homemaker and was a former employee of the JayC Store. She attended The River Church in Shoals.
She is survived by her husband, one daughter Sherri Campbell, of Shoals; three sons, Will Campbell and wife Sherri of Mitchell, Jason Campbell and wife Stephanie, of French Lick and Travis Campbell and wife Heather, of Loogootee. She is also survived by brothers James “Teddy” Holt, of Shoals, Bernard “Corky” Holt of Shoals, Robert “Dale” Holt, of Bedford and David Combs, of Virginia; 11 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Vernon Holt, Lawrence Holt and Ray Combs, a sister Clara “Peggy” Combs and three brothers who passed away in childhood.
Funeral services will be on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the Queen-Lee Chapel in Shoals with Pastor Ed Farnar officiating. Burial will be in the Springhill Cemetery in Shoals. Visitation will be on Monday from 4 p.m. till 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
