Mildred A. Deckard, 98, of Bedford, died at 2:25 am on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at the White River Lodge.
Born August 7, 1918, she was the daughter of John F. and Zella M (Williams) Manzenberger. She married Ansel R. Deckard, Sr. on May 22, 1937 and he preceded her in death on March 6, 1988. She was a homemaker and member of the Davis Memorial Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors include three sons, Ansel R. Deckard, Jr., and wife, Peggy, of Bedford, Gary D. Deckard, and wife, Judy, of Dayton, OH, Steven D. Deckard, and wife, Pamela, of Bloomington; eight grandchildren, Tim and wife, Lisa, Greg, Mike and wife, Amy, Jennifer and husband, Jerry, Jeff, Curt and wife, Misty, Shannon and wife, Angie, Chris and wife, Janet; twenty-one great grandchildren, Ryan and wife, Brandy, Tyler and wife, Stacie, Evan, Kirstin, Ryan, Lauren, Alex, Jean, Shirley, Kaitlyn, Chelsea, Brant, Kirsten, Madison, Colson, Ethan, Allie and husband, Darren, Autumn and husband, Justin, Caleb, Emma, Taylor and Hailey; five great great grandchildren, Olivia, Max, Will, Jayvyn, and Ainsley; a sister, Alpha McKnight of Bedford; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a great grandson, John; four brothers, Bill, Joe, Frank, and Johnny Manzenberger; five sisters, Kate Covey, Helen Reuter, Angie Sego, Luella Clampitt and Mary Jane Moses.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Monday, February 6th at the Davis Memorial Church of the Nazarene at 504 19th Street, Bedford, IN 47421 with Pastor Ken Bushey and Pastor Kenny Walden officiating. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, February 5th at the Day & Carter Mortuary and from 10 a.m. until the hour of service on Monday, February 6th at the Davis Memorial Church of the Nazarene. The family asks that friends consider memorial contributions be made to the Davis Memorial Church of the Nazarene.
