Harry Edward Mann, 69, of Mitchell, passed away Tuesday, November 22, 2016, at Indiana University Health Bloomington Hospital.
Born January 22, 1947, in Bedford, he was the son of Harry Addison “Tuck” and Sarah Gail (Crown) Mann. He was a retired farmer, a 1965 graduate of Mitchell High School, and a member of Bedford Boat and Sportsman Club. Eddie was a U. S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War, and a member of American Legion Post No. 250, and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9107.
Survivors include his son, Justin Edward Mann of Gooseneck, South Carolina; grandchildren, Emily Rose, Grace Carolyne, Triton Edward Hale, and Megan Renae; brother, Donald Richard (Katie) Mann of Indianapolis; sisters, Rose Anne (John) Gootee of North Vernon, Sarah Elizabeth Mann of Madison, Rebecca Jane Mann of Texas, Kathy Sue Mann of Madison
His parents; and siblings, Frederick Lee Mann, Arthur Mann, and Nancy K. Cox, preceded him in death.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 26, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Pastor Dwight Dunbar officiating. Cremation was chosen and burial will be at a later date in Hamer Cemetery with military honors accorded by American Legion Post No. 250 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9107. Friends may call from 3 p.m. till 7 p.m. Friday and from 9:30 a.m. until the service on Saturday at the funeral home.

Georgia Ethel (Fields) Routh Slaughter – Mitchell

Georgia Ethel (Fields) Routh Slaughter, 96, of Mitchell, passed away peacefully in the early morning on Wednesday, November 23, 2016, at Mitchell Manor Living and Rehabilitation Center.
Born November 25, 1919, in Lawrence County, she was the eighth of nine children of George and Stella (Bass) Fields. She attended Orleans Community Schools, graduated with the Class of 1938. Georgia was baptized into the Lord in 1936. She went to work at Reliance Manufacturing Company as soon as she graduated from high school, working until 1949. She married Joseph W. Routh October 16, 1946, and he preceded her in death in September 7, 1972. She married Alfred A. Slaughter February 14, 1981, and he preceded her in death November 24, 1999. She and Joe lived their married life on a small farm west of Mitchell. She and Alfred lived for 18 years in Ossian, Indiana. Georgia was a member of the Tulip Street Christian Church, the ladies sewing circle, and Fleur-de- Lis Club. She had worked at the Shoe Barn, The Burton City Drug Store and the Mitchell City Utilities. She had been a member of the Jefferson Township Home Demonstration Club and a member of the Elizabeth Circle of the Ossian Presbyterian Church. Georgia’s book of poetry, Verse in Simple Form, was published in 2012.
Survivors include her daughter, Patricia Jo (Alan) Brajnikoff of Kanarraville, Utah, sons, George Ellsworth (Kathy) Routh of Martinsville, Jeffery Lynn Routh of Mitchell, stepson, Don D. (Lori Kraly) Slaughter of Ossian; stepdaughter, Lydia Kokovay of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Christine (Dave) Dixon of Austin, Texas, Lisa Reed of Austin, Texas, Courtney (Matt) Wiggins of Martinsville, Scyler Routh of Martinsville; great grandchildren, Madeline and Finley Dixon of Austin, Texas, Matthew, Braxton, Nathan, and Troy Wiggins of Martinsville, Reed Bergmark of Austin, Texas; sister in law, Rosemary Routh of Fallon, Nevada; many nieces, nephews and other relatives
Her parents; both husbands; and siblings, Ellen (Reath) Sheeks, Addie (Russell) Darnell, Gladys (Knofel) Busick, Marie (Leland) Burton, Sue (Lynn) Tatton, Lawrence (Juanita) Fields, Jesse (Betty) Fields, Howard (Wilma) Fields, and stepson, Paul Kokovay preceded her in death.
Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, November 27, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Brother Darrin Chastain and Pastor Dave Mikulsky officiating. Burial will be in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 3 p.m. till 7 p.m. Saturday and from 12:30 p.m. until the service on Sunday at the funeral home.

Robert Lee Wells – Mitchell
February 12, 1942 – November 23, 2016
Robert Lee Wells, 74, of Mitchell, passed away Wednesday, November 23, 2016, at his residence.
Born February 12, 1942, in Lebanon, he was the son of Ellis A. and Ruby (Richardson) Wells. He married Trudy Kay Howson August 6, 1960. He retired from Central Transport Trucking Company and was a member of Sugar Creek Christian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Trudy K. Wells of Mitchell daughter, Rhonda Sue (Andrew) Friend of Lafayette grandchildren, Jordan G. Friend, Alexander J. Friend, and Brooklyn A. Friend brother, Richard E. Wells of Indianapolis
His parents and siblings, Ramon G. Wells and Rosemary A. McGuire, preceded him in death.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Monday, November 28, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home &; Cremation Center with Pastor Danny Goens officiating. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the service on Monday at the funeral home.
