Lee A. Thompson – Bedford

Lee A. Thompson, 88, of Bedford, died at 5a.m. on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at Westview Nursing and Rehab. in Bedford.
Born September 30 1927 in Williams, he was the son of Hale and Beulah (Adamson) Thompson. He married Velma Williams on April 1, 1950 and she survives. He was a letter carrier with the U.S. Postal Service for thirty-three years and drove the DAV van for ten years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during WW II and the Korean War having been drafted twice. He was a member of Gillen Post #33 American Legion, SAR and of the Baptist faith. Lee traveled over Florida as a professional shuffle board player.
Survivors include his wife, Velma, of Bedford; a son, Brian L. Thompson and wife, Kathy, of Bedford; a daughter-in-law, Ronda Thompson, of Mitchell; five grandchildren, Shannon Minshall, James Anthony, Sara Burk, Stuart Thompson, Brandon Thompson, and Leslie Pemberton; seven great grandchildren, Sherissa, Elise and Lorali Minshall, Braden, Lucas, Ty Paul, and Dani Lynn Thompson, Aiden, Mayah and Addalyn Pemberton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Brad Thompson; a brother, Harlan Thompson and a sister, Lucille Kinder.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 28th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Steve Warren officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery where military rites will be accorded at the graveside by members of Gillen Post #33 American Legion. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, May 27th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.

Sarah Ann (Underwood) Tincher, 80, of Bedford, died at 10:56 a.m. Tuesday, May 24, 2016, at Garden Villa, Bedford.
Born June 1, 1935, in Bedford, she was the daughter of Alfred E. Underwood and Ruth Ann (Panza) Underwood.
She married Raymond Tincher, Jr. who died in 1990. She was a homemaker.
Surviving are two sons, Steve (Linda) Tincher, Roanoke, IN and Aaron Tincher, Bedford; two daughters, Linda Inman, Bedford and Karen (Curtis) MacLeod, Florida; twelve grandchildren, Jennifer, Jeremy, Jacob, Joshua, Jordan, Lacey, Courtney, Hannah, Rhonda, Jamesmark, Cory, and Nathanial; one brother, Don Underwood, Bedford; and one sister, Donna Brown, Medora.
She was preceded by her parents; her husband; two brothers; and two sisters.
Cremation was chosen and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
