Norma Douglas, 86, of Bloomington, passed away at 6:10 pm on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at Stonecroft Health Campus in Bloomington.
Born April 21, 1929 in Lawrence Co., she was the daughter of Carl and Edna (Stewart) Phillips. She retired from RCA in 1988 and was a member of Sanders Pentecostal Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Lisa Southern and husband, Wyatt and Sharon Newlin and husband, John, all of Bloomington; two sons, Maurice Allcron and wife, Georgenna, of Springville and Ronald Douglas of Mooresville; two grandsons, Kevin Allcron and wife, Shannon, and Brian Newlin; three granddaughters, Sarah Allcron, Taylor Powell and Janel Roll; four great grandchildren, Ryan Campbell, Jake Campbell, Presley Roll and Kelly Allcron; a brother, Robert Phillips; two sisters, Thelma Deckard and husband, Opal, and Loretta Maddox all of Bedford.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Lavona Deckard, a brother, Elmer Phillips and a daughter-in-law, Jane Douglas.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Saturday, April 23rd in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Bro. Joe Nelson officiating. Burial will follow in Hanson Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, April 22nd and from Noon until the hour of service on Saturday, April 23rd at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
