Lois Anna Hilderbrand – Bedford
May 24, 1927 – March 29, 2016
Lois Anna Hilderbrand, 88, of Bedford, died at 12:04 p.m. Tuesday, March 29, 2016, at Garden Villa, Bedford.
Born May 24, 1927, in Edgar, IL, she was the daughter of William Wise Hale and Molly Alice (Hackler) Hale. She married Paul Wendell Hilderbrand on October 12, 1947; he preceded her in death on April 16, 2015.
Lois worked as a Medical Secretary at Bedford Regional Medical Center and was retired. She was a member of the Free Methodist Church, Bedford, where she had been a very active member involved in several activities including the CYC (Christ Youth Crusade), Bible School, and Ambassadors Sunday School. She was a former member of the Law. Co. Art Association, had been an active Poll Worker at election times, a member of the Law. Co. Museum, active in the Heltonville Veterans Group, had formerly been active with Lincoln School PTO and had been an active scouting volunteer with Cub Scouts and Brownie Scouts, including being a Den Mother.
Surviving are one daughter, Lisa Starr and husband Bud, Bedford; three sons, Roger Hilderbrand and his wife Sandi, Phoenix, AZ, Phillip Hilderbrand and wife Sandy, Indianapolis, and Dennis Hilderbrand and wife Terri, Washington, IN; grandchildren Dylan Hilderbrand and wife Martha, Bloomington, Julie Morris and husband Richard, Evansville, Father Ryan Hilderbrand, Huntingburg, Willyam Santo Salim, Washington, IN, Britton Starr and fiance’ Julia Devine, Evansville, and Jessica “JJ” Starr, Mooresville, NC.
Great-grandson, Oscar Hilderbrand, Bloomington; three brothers-in-law, George and Kenneth Hilderbrand, both of Columbus, IN and William Hilderbrand and wife Helen, Easyville, IN; one sister-in-law, Betty Hilderbrand, Bloomington; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three brothers and three sisters.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, April 1, 2016, at Free Methodist Church, Bedford, with Revs. John Lane and Reed Beard officiating. Burial will be in Mundell Cemetery, Heltonville. Friends may call on Thursday, from 4 p.m. till 8 p.m. at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home, Bedford.
