Robert Louis Stevens – Bedford

Robert Louis Stevens, 84, of Bedford died at 3:20 pm on Friday, February 19, 2016 at his residence.
Born March 2, 1931 he was the son of Pete and Mable (Humphrey) Stevens. He married Mary Alice Kern on April 21, 1956 and she preceded him in death on October 10, 2014. He was a self-employed house painter. He was a veteran of the US Army.
Survivors include one daughter, Sheila Silcott and her husband Jerry of Bedford; one son, Bruce Stevens of Bedford; four grandchildren: Chris Stevens and his wife Carrie, Angela Zumhingst and her companion Tony Allen, Tina Jones and her husband Aaron, and Brittney Bandy and her companion Matt Webster all of Bedford; seven great grandchildren: Caitlyn, Darian, Alexis, Rebecca, Heather, Sueanne, and Jackson Louis; three great great grandchildren: Faith, Justice, and Dallas; one sister, Nettie Hughes and her husband Don.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one daughter Tina Joy, and several brothers and sisters.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at the Old Union Cemetery. With military rites accorded at the graveside by members of the American Legion Gillen Post #33. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
