Kathleen F. Pirtle, 84, of Bedford, died at 10:20 a.m. on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at I.U. Health Hospice House.
Born July 4, 1931 in Bedford, she was the daughter of Ellis and Ophie (Mitchell) Fender. She married Henry H. Pirtle and he preceded her in death. She was a master cosmetologist, living and working in Indianapolis for over forty years. She did hair and makeup for television and worked at the Marott and did all the celebrities who stayed there.
Survivors include a daughter, Henrietta Pirtle, of Bedford.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, four brothers, Ray, Clovis, Eugene and John Fender and a sister, Ruth Fender.
Memorial services will be conducted at 6 p.m. on Thursday, February 4th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until the hour of service on Thursday, February 4th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.

Phyllis Thompson – Bedford
Phyllis Thompson, 90, of Bedford, died at 12:15 pm on Sunday, January 31st at White River Lodge.

Lorena June Harrell – Bedford

Lorena June Harrell, 86, of Bedford, died on Sunday, January 31, 2016 at I.U. Health Bloomington Hospital.
Born February 13, 1929, in Bedford, she was the daughter of Louis and Mary (Stroud) Robbins. June married Victor J. Harrell on March 4, 1950 and he survives. She worked in retail sales and was a member of the First Christian Church in Bedford.
Survivors include her husband, Victor of Bedford; one son, Steve Harrell of Bedford; one daughter, Judy Umphress and husband James of Bedford; one granddaughter, Tonya Umphress of Bedford; one brother, Douglas Robbins of Nashville, TN; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Loran Robbins.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. Alan Cloar officiating. Burial will follow in Leatherwood Christian Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at the Day & Carter Mortuary.

Kenneth Rae Kanaval Sr. – Mitchell
Kenneth Rae Kanaval, Sr., 66, of Mitchell, passed away at 11:30 a.m. Friday, January 29, 2016, at his residence.
Born April 16, 1949, in Lorain, Ohio, he was the son of Walter Harrison and Wanda Helen (Kolbe) Kanaval. He married Linda Sue Williams October 4, 1978. Kenneth was a certified plumber.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Sue Kanaval, Mitchell; daughter, Charity Houze, Wakeman, Ohio; son, Alan Williams, Lorain, Ohio; 9 grandchilden; 3 great grandchildren; brother, Donald Chester Kanaval, Ohio
His parents preceded him in death.
Cremation was chosen with a memorial service at a later date.

Fredrick Billy Gray – Mitchell
Fredrick Billy Gray, 46, of Mitchell, passed away Friday morning, January 29, 2016, at St. Vincent Dunn Hospital in Bedford.
Born June 10, 1969, in Bedford, he was the son of Fred and Mary Lou (Puckett) Gray. He enjoyed restoring old cars.
Survivors include sister, Tina Louise Gray-Thacker, Mitchell; nieces, Eva Dawn Thacker, Billie Jo Gray; several great nieces and nephews
His parents preceded him in death.
Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 2, at Mitchell Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 p.m. till 7 p.m. Monday at Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center.
