Violet Hedrick – Mitchell
Violet Hedrick, 82, of Mitchell, passed away Thursday evening at St. Vincent Dunn Hospital in Bedford.
Funeral arrangements are pending at Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center.
John E. Harman – Mitchell
John E. Harman, 58, of Mitchell, passed away Friday morning, October 30, at Indiana University Hospice House in Bloomington.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, November 2, at the First Baptist Church. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 p.m.till 7 p.m. Sunday at Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center.
Kay Owings – Bedford
January 3, 1916 – October 27, 2015
Kay Owings, 99, of Bedford, died at 10:06 p.m. Tuesday, October 27, 2015, at Bliss Place, Bedford.
Born January 3, 1916, in Lawrence Co., she was the daughter of Harry Emerson Nichols and Daisy Frances (Bailey) Nichols.
She married Bud Owings, who died in 1947.
She had been employed with the Social Security Administration having worked in both Terre Haute and Indianapolis offices. She was retired.
Surviving are two nephews, Ronald (Judy) Ratcliff and Matt (Ginger) Ratcliff, both of Bedford; two nieces, Audrey (Bob Cline) Ratcliff, Heltonville and Billie (Jeff) Shoup, Leavenworth, IN; and several great- nephews and great-nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son; two sisters, Inez Ratcliff and Gladys Bonine; one brother, Guy Nichols; two nieces, Polly Ann Hughes and Cynthia Kinworthy; and one nephew, Mike Ratcliff.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, October 30, 2015, at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home with John Wisley officiating. Burial will be in Mundell Cemetery. Friends may call on Saturday from 11 a.m. until the service at 1 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be considered to the Mundell Cemetery Association.

Ruth L. Craig – Bellview, Fl.

Ruth L. Craig, 87, of Bellview, FL, died at 8:30 am on Thursday, October 29, 2015 in Loogoottee, IN.
Born May 21, 1928 in Shelbyville, IN, she was the daughter of James Leo and Ruthie Ann (White) Sipes. She married Rev. Glenn Craig and he preceded her in death. She was a homemaker and pastor’s wife. She was a member of the Souls Harbor Church in Belleview, FL.
Survivors include children, Tony Craig of St. Petersburg, FL; Teresa Dailey and husband, Garry, of St. Petersburg, FL; Deitra Wilson and husband, Jeff, of Dunedin, FL and Steven Craig and wife, Angel, of Belleview, FL; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Funeral services and burial will be conducted in Belleview, FL.
Local arrangements are under the direction of the Day & Carter Mortuary.
