Betty Jean Schmidt – Bedford

Betty Jean (Gambrel) Schmidt, 94, of Bedford, passed away on Sunday, February 22, 2015 in Bedford.
Born March 23, 1920, in Bedford, Indiana, she was the daughter of Dr. J.B. Gambrel and Laurel Gambrel.
She was a graduate of Bedford High School. Betty was a homemaker.
Surviving are sons, John David (Kathy) Schmidt, of Florida, Daniel Carl Schmidt, of Bedford, Joseph Blaine Schmidt, of Bedford, Winston Dean (Liz) Schmidt, of Cincinnati, OH; one daughter, Nancy (Greg) Ashley, of Bedford; nine grandchildren, Kristin Schmidt and Daniel Schmidt, of FL, Emily Schmidt and Jeremy Schmidt, of Bedford, Kevin Ashley, Dana Haddan, both of Bedford, Jonathon Schmidt, of Saltillo, Tracy Payne, and Lisa Williamson, of Cincinnati, OH; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Nancy Gambrel Beard, and Phyllis Gambrel Colwell.
Funeral service will be on Thursday, February 26, 2015 at 10 a.m. at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home with Dwight Dunbar officiating. Burial will be in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Friends may call on Wednesday from 4 p.m. till 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Lee Anna Hanks, 58, of Lawrence County, died Saturday, February 21, 2015 at IU Health Bloomington.
Born August 5, 1956 in Lawrence County, IN she was the daughter of Wayne and Ruthie (Neumeister) Robbins.
She married Michael Hanks on July 3, 1999, and he survives. She was a homemaker and attended Dive Christian and Woodville Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Michael of Mitchell; daughter, Crystal ( Kenny ) Guffey of Mitchell; one son, Alan George II, of Mitchell; step-son, Greg Inman of Greene County; step-daughter, Whitney Hanks, of Mitchell; four grandchildren, John David (Kimmy) Burton, Bradley (Karan) Burton, Jesse Burton and Zachary George; two great-grandchildren, Paxten and Bradley Burton; sisters, Ruth (Jeff) Boteler of Jasper, AL, and Lois Mitchell of Bedford; brothers, Wayne L. (Terri) Robbins of Richmond, and Mike (Saundra) Robbins of Orleans; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and one step-son, Michael Hanks.
Funeral service will be on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at 10 a.m. at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home, with Johnny Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday, 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
