Joshua Brumfield – Mitchell
Joshua Brumfield, 75, of Mitchell, passed away at 8 p.m. Saturday, January 31, 2015, at Indiana University Health Bloomington Hospital.
Born October 1, 1939, in Bono Township, Lawrence County, he was the son of Clelle A. and Nettie (Smith) Brumfield. He married Linda M. McPike August 30, 1963.
Josh retired from General Motors and ministered at Old Union Christian Church, Guthrie Christian Church, Liberty Christian Church, First Christian Church, and was presently serving Saltlillo Christian Church. He was a member of the Limestone Christian Crusaders, and graduated from Mitchell High School in 1957.
Survivors include his wife, Linda M. Brumfield, Mitchell; daughters, Julie Lynn (Guy) Wathen, LaGrange, Kentucky; Laura (Joe) Rogers, Yulee, Florida; Brooke Blackwell, Mitchell; grandchildren, Andrew Kanach, Conner Blackwell, Kylee Blackwell; sisters, Susan (Kenny) Hendricks, Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Bobette (Lowell) Grissom, O’Fallon, Missouri
His parents, and sisters, Betsy Jane Doversberger and Lou Ann Richmond, preceded him in death.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, February 4, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Brother George Sites and Brother Don Mahan officiating. Burial will be in Lawrenceport Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 p.m. till 7 p.m. on Tuesday and from 11 a.m. until the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
