Frances Pauline Stafford – Bedford
Frances Pauline Stafford, 89, of Bedford, died at 5:05 pm on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at her residence.
Born March 23, 1925 in Oolitic, IN, she was the daughter of John Andrew and Lora (Miller) Tolliver. She married Wayne Stafford on December 17, 1942 and he preceded her in death on February 26, 2002. She was a wife, mother and homemaker. She had been a seamstress at the Turner Doll Factory in Heltonville. She was a member of the Judah Church of Christ where she taught Sunday school for thirty years.
Survivors include three daughters, Fran Cobb and Claudia Treasa (Terri) Stillions both of Bedford, Anna L “Ann” (Donald) Hillenberg of Heltonville; two sons, Danial D. “Danny” (Evelyn) Stafford of Heltonville and Claude Thomas “Tommy” (Brenda) Stafford of Bedford; eighteen grandchildren; forty-three great grandchildren; eight great great grandchildren and a brother, Wayne Franklin (Edith) Tolliver of Bedford.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sisters, June Owens and Joyce Holloway; four brothers, John Tolliver, Jr. whom she cared for in her home from 1965 until his death in 2000, Delbert, Joseph and Jerry Tolliver; two son-in-laws, Opal Cobb and Joel Ward Stillions.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Friday, January 23rd in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Lyman Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in the Judah Church of Christ Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, January 22nd
at the Day & Carter Mortuary.

Rebecca Jean (Becky Corps) Meadows – Bedford

Rebecca Jean (Becky Corps) Meadows, 72, of Bedford, passed on from this life at 9:00 am on Monday, January 19, 2015 at her residence with her loving family at her side.
She was born May 3, 1942 in Bartholomew Co., Indiana, and soon moved to Bedford. She was the daughter of George Franklin and Jean G. (Robbins) Corps. She married Jack Meadows on August 13, 1961 and he survives.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bedford. Her family, friends, and church family were the light of her life. She especially enjoyed the New Horizon Sunday School Class. She was a graduate of Bedford High School with the class of 1960. She attended I.U. and held a certification in interior design/real estate staging. Interior design was her passion. Both she and Jack renovated/built new over 60 homes in the Lawrence County area. They also owned and operated Bedford Paint and Wallpaper. In earlier years, she was employed by I.U. sports information and enjoyed the sports stat desk at I.U. basketball games. She was a licensed beautician and was owner/operator of Hair Designs by BJ, along with her mother Jean and daughter, Michelle. She was known for her ability as a cheerleader (her entire school years) and dancing. She enjoyed the 1960 class reunions and the fellowship of her classmates. She was so proud of her children, and grandchildren. Her top priority was being involved in their sports, cheerleading and dancing.
Survivors include her husband, Jack; daughters, Michelle Jean (Darren) Root, Mellonie Jan Dixon and Amy Leigh (Jon) Jeffries; nine grandchildren, Andy (Anna) Root, Meredith Root, Alex Root, Chelsea Dixon, Taylor Dixon, Mathew Garrison, McKenna Garrison, Averie Jeffries and Alivia Jeffries; a brother, Robin D. Corps of Carmel CA.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, her parents and a brother, Larry G. Corps.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Friday, January 23rd at the First Baptist Church in Bedford with Rev. Dr. Kregg Burris officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be at the First Baptist Church from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, January 22nd.
The family asks that friends consider memorial contributions be made to the First Baptist Church or Lawrence Co. Cancer Patient Services.

Bruce M. Wilcoxon, 65, of Mitchell passed away at IU Health Hospice House in Bloomington on Saturday January 17, 2015 at 4:35 a.m.
Cremation with no services was chosen.

Jason Spinks – Ocala, Fl.
Jason Spinks, 44, of Ocala, FL, formerly of Bedford, died Friday, January 16, 2015 in Florida from injuries sustained in an aircraft accident.
He died doing what he loved. Born October 30, 1970 in Bedford, he was the son of Gary and Vicki (Magnus) Spinks. He married Theresa Lewis on November 22, 2014 and she survives. He was a pilot with a passion for flying. He was co-owner of Light Sport Planes which he built and sold.
Survivors include his wife, Theresa, of Ocala, FL; a son, Camden Spinks and wife, Stephanie, of Oolitic; the mother of his son, Tamara McCormick; step-children, Justin and Julie Andrews both of Ocala, FL; a grandson, Curtis Mathews; a sister, Danielle Spinks of San Francisco, CA; an uncle, Dan Magnus of Portland, OR.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Brandi Spinks.
A celebration of life will be conducted at 6 pm on Friday, January 23rd at Park Place Church of God, 519 ‘W’ Street in Bedford with Rev. Jay Bennett officiating. Visitation will be from 4 pm until the hour of service on Friday, January 23rd at the church.

Darlene Stevenson – Oolitic
Darlene “Mimi” Stevenson, 63, of Oolitic, died at 1:26 pm on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at Westview Nursing and Rehab. in Bedford.
Born December 29, 1951 in Centerville, she was the daughter of Robert and Mary Helen (Andrews) Alexander. She married James R. Stevenson, Jr. on January 15, 1972 and he preceded her in death on December 19, 2008. She was a graduate of Centerville High School with the class of 1970 and where she was a cheerleader. She was a food representative for several food corporations, most recently working for Arthur Bertel & Associates. She had been active in the St. Ambrose Catholic Church and a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. She attended the Mitchell Wesleyan Church.
Survivors include three sons, Craig Stevenson and wife, Gretchen and Chad Stevenson all of Oolitic and Chris Stevenson and wife, Trisha, of Bedford; grandchildren, Sydney, Kaitlyn, Connor, Logan and Bradley Stevenson; two brothers, Pastor Todd Alexander of Gallatin, TN and Erin Alexander of Savanah, TN; a sister, Melissa Murphy of Ft. Worth, TX.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a brother, Brian Alexander.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Thursday, January 22nd in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastors Todd Alexander and Drew Moorehead officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, January 21st at the Day & Carter Mortuary.

Kathryn L. Ray Crane – Bedford
Kathryn L. Ray Crane, 89, of Bedford, died at 4:01 pm on Sunday, January 18, 2015 at St. Vincent Dunn Hospital.
Born October 16, 1925, in West Baden, IN, she was the daughter of Lloyd and Pearl (Burton) Elmore. She married Harry Ray on April 15, 1944 and he preceded her in death on February 19, 1983. She later married Benjamin Crane in 1986 and he preceded her in death on January 31, 1999. She was a graduate of Orleans High School with the class of 1943. She had worked in the Deli Dept. at Mill’s Market, at RCA and NAD Crane. She was a fifty-nine year member of the Englewood Baptist Church and the Women’s Missionary Circle.
Survivors include three sons, Jerry L Ray and wife, Sue, of Bedford, William L. (Bill) Ray and wife, Connie, of Carmel, Stephen D. Ray, of Bedford; a daughter, Anita Walker of Bedford; three brothers, Dewey Elmore and wife, Sybil, of Evansville, Ralph F. Elmore and wife, Barbara of Calhan, CO and Lloyd Elmore, Jr. and wife, Gwen of Livonia, MI; five granddaughters, Luci McFall (Rick), Jennifer Emmerson (Rob), Melissa Tackett (Greg), Jodi Terry (John) and Julia Lindsey; three grandsons, Jerry L. Ray, Jr. (Crystal), Brian Ray (Misti) and Bradley Ray (Laura); twenty great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, two brothers, Sterling and Donald Elmore; a daughter-in-law, Merryl Kramer Ray and a sister, Juanita Sue Elmore (in infancy).
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am Friday, January 23rd in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor David Ferry officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Christian Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, January 22nd at the Day & Carter Mortuary.

Barbara F. Patton – Shoals
Barbara F. Patton, 64, of Shoals, passes away at 12:12 p.m. on Friday, January 16, 2015 at University of Louisville Hospital.
Born on April 7, 1950 in Crawford County, Indiana, she was the daughter of Harold and Cornealia (Kemo) Patton.
Barbara is survived by long-time companion, Bobby Holt, of Shoals.
She attended Shoals Baptist Church and currently attended the River Church in Shoals. She was previously employed by Carefree in Paoli. Barbara loved to read the Bible and do word searches She will be missed by her friends and her little Chihuahua dog.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 until the hour of service at 1 p.m. at the Queen-Lee Funeral Home in Shoals. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery. Pastor Ed Farhar will officiate the service.
