Sherry Sue (Phillips) East – Paoli
Sherry Sue (Phillips) East, 66, of Paoli, died at 10:02 p.m. on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at Paoli Health & Living Center.
Born June 11, 1948 in Lawrence Co., she was the daughter of Elmer and Charlene (Watkins) Phillips. She married Charles “Charlie” East and he survives. She was a homemaker and a wonderful wife, mother, daughter and sister. She was very kind and loving.
Survivors include her husband, Charlie, of Bedford; a son, Charles P East of Louisville, KY; two step-daughters, Rhonda Mobley and Susan Roberts both of Bloomington; a sister, Cherri Linthicum and husband Walter of Lebanon, TN; two grandchildren and one due on Friday.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2 pm on Thursday, September 25th at Hanson Cemetery with Bro. Max Abel officiating. Visitation will be from Noon until 1:30 pm on Thursday, September 25th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.

Raymond J. Gilstrap – Bedford
Raymond J. Gilstrap, 85, of Bedford, died at his residence Monday night, September 22, 2014.
Born December 15, 1928 in Pinhook, Lawrence County, he was the son of Dorothy Marie (Axsom) and Stanley Raymond Gilstrap. He married Dolores Maxine Bechner on January 24, 1953 and she preceded him in death on April 21, 2010. Raymond was an insurance agent and realtor, owning Gilstrap Realty and Insurance for 30 years, retiring in 1993. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bedford. He was a Master Mason and was a member of Bedford Lodge #14 F. & A.M. and all Yorkrite Bodies for over fifty years. He was a Veteran of WWII, serving in the Air Force from 1946 to 1948.
Survivors include his daughter, Jennifer Faris and her husband Michael, of Bedford; two grandchildren, Jeremy Faris and Timothy Faris, both of Bedford; a brother, Lawrence Edward Gilstrap and his wife Gayle, of Bedford; two sisters, Nellie Allen of Okeechobee, FL, and Juanita Thomas, of Bedford; two half-sisters, Bonne Sue Clifton and Betty Jo Brown, both of Bedford; two step-sisters, Oweeta Flinn, of Bloomington, and Helen Sovern, of Brownstown; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brother, Robert Dwight Gilstrap; sister, Virginia Ruth Tweedy Durr; step-sister, Jean Horner.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 27th in the Elmwood Chapel at Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. Dr. Kregg Burris officiating. Burial will follow in the Cresthaven Memory Gardens with military rites accorded at the graveside by members of Gillen Post #33 and D.A.V. Chapter 2. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, September 26th the Day & Carter Mortuary.

James E. Glover – Bedford
James E. Glover, 71, of Bedford, died Saturday.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the service time at 2 p.m. at Jones Funeral Home in Heltonville. Burial will follow in Bartlettsville Methodist Cemetery.
Edward E. Boshears – Bedford
Edward E. Boshears, 89, of White River Lodge, Bedford, died at 8:44 p.m. Monday, September 22, 2014, at I.U. Health, Bedford.
Born December 24, 1924, in Bloomington, he was the son of Elza and Lola (Adkins) Boshears. He married Margie K. Piercefield on January 5, 1952; she preceded him in death in 2000.
He was employed as an appliance repairman at Armstrong Furniture, Bedford, for many years. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and was part of the Normandy Invasion; and was a member of the Free Methodist Church, Bedford.
Surviving are his daughter, June (Dave) Armstrong, Oolitic; two granddaughters, April Armstrong, Bloomington and Rachel Zollman, Bedford; four great grandchildren, Zoe and Zane Zollman, Bedford, and Sean and Savanna Armstrong, Lafayette; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; one brother, Homer Boshears; two sisters, Mae Meadows and Thelma Wampler; and one grandson, Paul Armstrong.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday, September 26, 2014, at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home, Bedford, with Pastor Harold Godsey officiating. Burial will be in Gilgal Cemetery, Heltonville. Military Rites will be accorded by members of American Legion, Gillen Post #33, Bedford. Friends may call on Thursday from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
