Joyce L. Roll – Bedford
Joyce L. Roll, 80, of Bedford, passed away on Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at 6 a.m. in Bedford.
She was born on June 30, 1934 to Cecil and Blanche M. (Knight) Hayes. She married Dallas Roll in 1951 and he preceded her in death.
Survivors include her daughters, Carolyn Knoy, Connie (Rick) Bennett, Mary Albertson, and Kim Mitchel; sons, Jimmy (Kimmy) Roll, James L. Roll, Steve Roll, Johnny Roll; Sisters, Betty Self, Shirley Hayes, Margie Longfellow, Delores (Donna) Lannan; brothers, Jack Hayes and Harold Hayes; 17 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister, two grandchildren
Funeral services will be on Tuesday September 23, 2014 at Noon at Cresthaven Funeral Home. Friends may call on Monday September 22, 2014 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Cresthaven Funeral Home, and on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until service time, internment will be in Mt. Lebanon Cemetery in Orange County
Barbara Jean Slone – Mitchell
Barbara Jean Slone, 68, of Mitchell passed away at 7:15 p.m. Thursday, September 18, 2014, at Westview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Bedford.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Monday, September 22, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Reverend Glenn Hamer officiating.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the service on Monday at the funeral home.
Claude V. Earl- Mitchell

Claude V. Earl, 83, passed away at 1:07 a.m. Thursday, September 18, 2014, at his residence.
Born October 19, 1930, in Lawrence County, he was the son of Arthur T. and May Bell (Simmons) Earl. He married Joan (Lee) Bell March 13, 1953.
He was a farmer and school bus driver for 44 1⁄2 years for Mitchell Community Schools. Claude was a 1949 graduate of Tunnelton High School and a member of Smedley Church of Christ. He was a U. S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War and a member of American Legion Post No. 250.
Survivors include his wife, Joan Earl, Mitchell;children, David Martin Earl, Mitchell; Douglas (Jana) Earl, Mitchell, Lea Angela “Angie” (Adrian) Slaughter, Mitchell; grandchildren, Mikel (Kim) Earl, Jason (Lesley) Slaughter, Jamie (A.J.) Johnson, Jodie (Kyle) Endris, Lindsay (Nick) Doub, Tyler (Candie) Earl, Evan (Nikki) Earl; 10 great grandchildren; sisters, Mary Evelyn Lee, Jasper, Ruth Ellen Johnson, Mooresville
His parents preceded him in death.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, September 21, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Brother Mike Davis officiating. Burial will be in Talbott Cemetery with military honors accorded by American Legion Post No. 250 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9107. Friends may call from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, and from 12:30 p.m. until the service on Sunday at the funeral home.
Casketbearers will be grandsons.
